Pinot Gris

Takamatua Valley Vineyards is proud to be the first producer of Pinot Gris in New Zealand. The Takamatua Valley Pinot Gris has the perfumed characters associated with this grape - that ranges in colour from bluish grey to brownish pink. The wine is succulent and rich with candy aromas which are a feature of this complex wine.

Pinot Noir

The Takamatua Valley Pinot Noir has an elegance and softness of this classic Burgundy grape. The wine has a fruity character tending towards plum with suppleness of texture and a well rounded finish.

In addition to the Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir, the first small press of Gewurztraminer is expected in November of 2001. Chardonnay and Reisling will follow in 2003. Future possibilities include a Cabernet-Merlot blend. Takamatua Valley Vineyards is currently expanding their selection of wines to include small boutique wines from New Zealand and California.
